RN to BSN

Enhance your career by completing your BSN

The MSU College of Nursing is excited to announce a newly-revised RN to BSN curriculum! Designed for the working professional, this flexible program is delivered fully online, with arranged minimal practice experiences close to home.

A more convenient, flexible RN to BSN program:

  • Program is now 30 credits (previously 32 credits)
  • Program can be completed in 3-5 semesters, depending on student's schedule
  • RN to BSN is an online program
  • Enrollment can begin in any semester
  • 30 credits awarded for passing NCLEX
  • Participating with the Michigan Transfer Agreement, which fulfills some prerequisites
  • Decreased practice hours
  • We now allow any PSY 101 direct transfer to also apply towards a student’s ISS 200 level requirement
  • We have removed HDFS 225 as a prerequisite, as the content is built into most ADN program requirements
  • We now allow students to transfer in their Anatomy and Physiology program requirements, even if they do not directly transfer as ANTR 350 or PSL 250/310
  • College will waive MTH 103 if a student transfers in STT 200 or STT 201

RN to BSN Community College Partnership Program:

Michigan State University also holds articulation agreements with the following institutions:

  • Lansing Community College
  • Macomb Community College
  • Muskegon Community College
  • Oakland Community College
  • St. Clair County Community College

Associate Degree in Nursing students who have enrolled have been admitted to one of the above institutions are eligible to participate in our partnership programs and take courses at Michigan State, after gaining admission. Eligible students may enroll in two summer courses while completing their associate’s degree.
