Marilyn Oermann Honored as Helen K. Grace Endowed Visiting Professor
Marilyn Oermann, PhD, RN, FAAN, ANEF, will be the 2009/2010 recipient of the Helen K. Grace Endowed Visiting Professor in Faculty Clinical Practice.
Dr. Oermann is currently Professor and the Adult/Geriatric Health Division Chair at The School of Nursing, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is also the primary investigator for a research grant entitled CPR Training for Nursing Students: Effects of Different Instructional Approaches. Dr. Oermann is nationally published and involved in the areas of evaluation and testing in nursing education.
Dr. Oermann will be visiting with the College January 13-15, 2010. The focus of her visit will be faculty development for guiding learning in clinical practice environment. A special session will be planned for our Michigan Nurse Corp students and others looking toward a faculty career to explore strategies for developing their role as a teacher within the entire faculty role.
